Set up your organisation

Creating an account is four steps — Account → Verify → Plan → Payment — and it crosses a sign-in boundary in the middle. Set aside ten minutes and have a card to hand.

  1. Open the sign-up page — Start your free trial, 30 days free, no commitment required.
  2. Fill in Full name, Work email, Password, Organisation name and Your role.
  3. Press Continue. Your account is registered and a verification email is sent.
  4. Open the link in that email. Following it signs you in — in the tab that opened the link, and in the tab you started in once it refreshes. The email link is the only way past this step; there is no “I have already verified” button.
  5. On Choose your plan, pick Club or Federation and a billing cycle. Enterprise sends you to Contact sales instead — there is no self-serve Enterprise purchase.
  6. Enter your card details. A trial still needs a card.
  7. A provisioning screen runs while the payment is confirmed. When it finishes you are switched into your new organisation and taken to onboarding.

The sign-up form asks for at least 12 characters with an upper-case letter, a lower-case letter, a number and a symbol, and shows a strength bar as you type. The symbol is the form being stricter than it needs to be: the actual rule Sqoura enforces everywhere else is 12 characters with an upper-case letter, a lower-case letter and a digit.

Include a symbol anyway to get past the form. Nothing later will ask you for one.

Four steps — Welcome → Profile → Team → Done. Every one is skippable, and a Skip setup link sits in the header until the last step. Anything you skip reappears on the activation checklist on your dashboard.

  1. Welcome — greets you by organisation name.
  2. Organisation profile — your Logo (PNG, JPG or SVG, up to 2 MB), Primary sport, Country and Website.
  3. Invite your team — up to five colleagues at once, each with an email address and a role of Admin, Staff or Viewer. These are real invitations; each person gets exactly the same invite email they would get from Settings later.
  4. Done — open the dashboard, or create a starter tournament called Sample Tournament to click around in and delete whenever you like.
  • One member: you, holding Org Admin.
  • No custom roles and no pending invitations.
  • No public page address, so the public page cannot be switched on yet.
  • Your sport type already set and locked.

None of this is compulsory, but each one is easier now than after entries start arriving.

  1. Enrol in two-factor authentication. Do this first. Granting a role, deactivating a member and exporting the audit log all ask for a code, so an administrator without it is blocked at the moments that matter — Your account and security.
  2. Upload your logo. It appears on your public registration pages and at the top of every automated email your applicants receive — so it is on their screen before they know who you are — Organisation settings.
  3. Fill in your contact details. Name, email, phone, address and country, so an applicant with a question has somewhere to go.
  4. Set your default display currency, if your members think in something other than the currency you charge in.
  5. Claim your public page address. One link that lists everything you have open. Worth doing early: you can only change it once every 30 days, and the address you want may be taken by then.
  6. Invite the people who will do the work, and give them the narrowest role that lets them do it — Your team and their roles.
  7. Look at your allowances. Storage is the one most organisations meet first, and a season of identity documents fills it faster than you would think — Plans, storage and billing.

When that is done, the path from here to a published medal table is Run your first competition.
